West Vancouver is easily traveled to from Georgia Street in Downtown Vancouver via the landmark Lion’s Gate Bridge, and is a northwest community of Downtown Vancouver real estate under its own municipal jurisdiction.

West Vancouver

Lion’s Gate Bridge lies 1,823 meters in length and spans the borders of West Vancouver and North Vancouver stopping at Marine Drive, which is the main business area for West Vancouver. This portion of commerce goes along the Burrard Inlet and finds its way to Horseshoe Bay, which is a water-front ferry community seen on the western region of West Vancouver. Horseshoe Bay ferries give a route to Langdale, Bowen Island and Nanaimo. From this point you could take Highway 99 to head north for Whistler, B.C. due to the end of Highway 1, also called the Trans Canada Highway.

West Vancouver real estate consists mainly of residential property, which can uphold the district’s image as a reserved and affluent community. Park Royal Shopping Centre, which is reached off of the Lion’s Gate Bridge on Marine Drive has become Canada’s first and West Vancouver’s one mall. There are more than 280 stores and restaurants within Park Royal, which renders it the largest shopping plaza on the North Shore. The Shopping Centre contains two enclosed malls, which are found on either side of Marine Drive. Whether you want to go east or west to North Vancouver, or south to Downtown, you can pick a bus stop on either side of the street. Popular shops and cafes, including Whole Foods and Starbucks, can be discovered at the newly built outdoor shopping venue, the Village at Park Royal, which is next to the South Mall.

One of the most typical gathering areas in the North Shore area remains Ambleside Beach. From the park, you can see gossamer views of Downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, and the Lions Gate Bridge, which are all family friendly aspects of this area. It is of course of no surprise when West Vancouver real estate sky rocketed above many other areas in the world. Ableside transforms into a popular beach location in the summer, but at the other times of the year you may have a lovely date there, take your kids to play, or a relaxing walk with your dog. Remaining more of a historic nature stop is the Lighthouse Park which is adjacent to the western end of West Vancouver. At this park you may find the lighthouse itself, the Municipal landmark, several nice steep/flat trails with extremely dense foliage spread across its 185 acre land area. One of the first lighthouse stations that was manned in Canada was Point Atkinson, where Lighthouse Park received its name from.

West Vancouver sports 3 secondary schools not to mention 14 primary and elementary schools found in its jurisdiction. Among those would be two private schools, as well as a highly renowned public school district.
